Definition

A meniscus tear /l esion / rupture represents an injury of one of both cartilage discs (meniscus), which are located in the knee joint between the thighbone and the shinbone.
A meniscus tear / rupture can occur suddenly through an accident or it can develop gradually within the course of general abrasion of the knee. Meniscus rupture causes pain in the knee joint.
